A fresh and exciting way to ring in a birthday party celebration is with a bright and fun theme and this is exactly what event stylist Partylicious did with a birthday bash. By utilizing bold colors and the feel of sand and sun, a Teen Beach Movie theme was the perfect way to celebrate little Mia’s 5th birthday.
A main event station was set up, complete with two tables full of treats, savory fares, and drinks, and likewise just as brilliant décor. A huge backdrop behind the tables made of bamboo tiki-hut material with three surfboards propped up against it, each with a different message to the birthday girl, including her age, her name, and the theme of the party.
On the main table was the best and brightest of the sweets, including a gorgeous birthday cake, candies, cookies, and cupcakes. The birthday cake was a masterful work of art, boasting two tiers and beach details for days. The bottom tier was posed after the ocean, with light blue fondant and details of spiraling waves. A sugar sculpted piece was also attached, replicating a wooden beach sign that read “Mia”. The top tier was striped in the colors of the backdrop surfboards, featuring orange, blue, and green. Two miniature sugar fondant surfboards were attached to the front as well. The top of the cake was fun and unique, with sugar pieces formed into replicas of an old beach VW van and a palm tree. In front of the cake were sugar cookies in the shape of surfboards and surrounding the cake itself were more intricately designed sugar cookies in shapes of flip flops and tropical flowers. Sandcastle buckets were filled with suckers and jellybeans, while colorful macaroons, brownie bites, and blue-frosted cupcakes filled up the rest of the main table.
A beverage station was set up just to the side of the main table and it was replicated in the theme of a tiki-bar, with the guests taking their drinks from plastic cups in the shapes of pineapples and coconuts. More sandcastle beach buckets were loaded up with tons of candy and sent home as delightful favors with the guests.
